ASTM B111/ASME SB111 C70600 Seamless Copper Nickel Alloy Tube for heat Exchanging
UNS C70600 copper-nickel alloy is primarily used for seawater service as forged and machined valve and pump components, fittings and hardware. This alloy is also used in applications requiring high corrosion resistance and where chloride stress-corrosion cracking precaution prevents usage of stainless steels.
Copper-nickel alloys have excellent resistance to biofouling and marine corrosion and possess good fabricability. Copper gains more strength and corrosion resistance when nickel is added to it.
UNS C70600 is one type of copper-nickel alloy, which has excellent corrosion resistance even in marine environments. This alloy possesses average high strength and good creep resistance at high temperatures and costs more in comparison to copper-aluminum alloys and other alloys with similar mechanical properties
